If you’re a STEM educator, administrator, or anyone interested in STEM education, you do not want to miss STEMathon 2017 in Lancaster, PA on August 2-3, 2017. This year’s theme is STEM – It Takes a Community. Dr. Yvonne Spicer, Vice President of Advocacy and Educational Partnerships at the National Center for Technological Literacy at the Museum of Science in Boston will provide a keynote on August 2, 2017, during the opening general session.
On August 3, 2017, during the closing general session, panelists representing Pennsylvania’s STEM Ecosystems will provide guidance for creating and sustaining STEM communities of practice.
This year’s conference will examine STEM education from all community-related aspects including how to establish community partnerships to support STEM, how to acquire funding for STEM programs, and how to build STEM communities of practice. Formal K-12 STEM education, informal and out-of-school time STEM programs, and STEM opportunities at the higher education level will all be explored over the two days of the conference. In addition, successful strategies to create and sustain STEM ecosystems will be highlighted and celebrated as attendees learn from communities that are advancing STEM education for all students.
